So how 'out of the loop' are you? Months? Years? Proph-only gives the impression you haven't played since 05/06. If that's the case, don't worry about farming. Just get back into playing. Use that 47k to kick you off.
Anyway, if you're really money oriented, you'll want to buy the other games. They're fairly cheap nowadays. The most recent farms generally include Assassins and Ritualists, and often skills from NF and/or EotN. It's a worthwhile investment if you want to keep playing GW anyway.

"...wat?"
Torment Shields can't be req. 10.
Anyway, best idea would be to change your password and use the money to get yourself started. Use the 55-monk to farm, too. Why not?
Plus what Marty said.

as Xminimalism said, you can't have a tormented shield req. 10 uninscr. and that shield isn't crappy, its one of the most excpensive shields in GW.
about the 55 hp monk, you can do some farms wich can increase your money but as marty said, you wont be able to farm alot without the other games, they are cheap these days and if you wan to play GW alot, then go and get them, if you can't buy em all in once,
you should buy factions first, assassins and ritualists are pretty famous these days for farms.
EoTN is usefull for the PvE only skills wich are great for farming aswell!
nightfall got some epic farming spots, but you can farm some things without this one.
just use your 47K or whatever you have left now to get you started, and play out proph
with most charrs. , you gonna need all areas to farm in if you just have proh.

First off appreciate all the responses guys.. Secondly, I want to play more, but honestly I just use it to kill time. And as my deployment date for the Corps grows closer Ill spend more time out and about. But if the other games would be a wise investment than I probably should give them a whirl I loved the First one alot though. All my chacs. are lvl 20. Other than that. I did a little sand drake farming with my w/mo. Just to kill time. With my 55 monk any noob farming areas you guys would recommend? And yes Its safe to say I've been outta the loop since about 06'ish. But again thx for the help and I appreciate that.
Also with my money what things would you recommend I buy? Sorry for such a dumb laymen question but I'm honestly outta the loop, I did a little reading up on it, but Im still ages behind you all.

it's up to you and whether or not you think you will enjoy playing guildwars again or not. if you think that you will enjoy it by playing again, go for it.

If they aren't max damage, sell them unidentified. You'll get a fixed price for them regardless of what stats they have. This is because identifying gold items gives you a point in the wisdom title track.
If you have identified them, you'll need them to be max damage and low req to be worth something. Even if they aren't, they might have max mods which you can salvage. If they don't have either of them, they're merch food.

You might be able to farm materials. I'm thinking dust in kryta. Other than that there's not much you can do without the other campaigns.

Yeah lol I kinda discovered those Skeletons are a bitch...I'm wondering if I brought a warrior perhaps, could he neutralize them for me..

Your Warrior friend would get decimated in a matter of seconds; those skeletons hit for 100 fixed damage with their Bone Spikes.

Spirit Spammers can beat them fairly easily. They do enough damage and last long enough that they can take them out before they do too much damage. It also has the benefit of you not needing to be in aggro range, so if something goes wrong you can just walk away and try again when you can.
